I Still Think 07/07/07 Would Have Been The Coolest

Author J. K. Rowling has announced that the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", will be released at midnight on Saturday, 21st July 2007. Those of you who have children will understand why I will doubtless be standing in line, probably at the Squirrel Hill Barnes and Noble, at that exact time. Those of you who have read these books yourself will understand why there will be almost nothing posted on this blog during that weekend, and possibly into the following week.

A release date just two weeks earlier, on 07/07/07, would have been a far better tribute for this seventh installment. But I guess it was not to be. Oh well, better late than never.

See you in line! I'll be with my kids, but honestly, I would be there bymyself if I didn't have any kids--I can't wait.

They don't want to have the last book come out a week before the next movie.

The next movie hits on 7-14.

All the die-hard H.P. fans (and I hate spiders) will have already seen the movie by then.

No sense in getting a movie and book to clash with one another in the lives of the consumers.

Good point Mark. But having a release date of 07/07/07 for Book 7 would have been worth pushing the movie back a few weeks, if need be. BTW, Draco must die.

how many copies do you have to buy? I have to get 3, and then wait for someone to finish so I can read!

We are too prudent to buy 3 copies of the book. Save a tree. Share!

Or, do what we do. My wife reads out-loud to the three boys.

My dad used to read the Harry Potter series out to me, too! It's a great memory.
